I wonder what the exact requirements for a rank-up are. I'm going to have to view my stars carefully to find out.

I think it's more along the lines of a new set of ranks since the limit was reached so fast.
You'll probally get red stars upon reaching SmithMasterGeneral

I know that, I'm just wondering whether or not the rank ups (ex: Senior Smith to Master Smith) have to do with frequency of posts or total number of posts. If I rank up at 200 posts, then it probably has to do with total, but I'll have to look closely to be sure.

Pretty sure it's the total. If you check the memberlist and sort by posts then you can check individual user's profiles to get a sense of roughly where each rank occurs.

Doing this is what made me surmise that Junior Smith comes at about 25 posts or so.

I came on here and saw someone had this rank that had something to do with tea. I come on here later and suddenly its gone. Why?

I think this person had like eight posts... I think there's like a special requirement, and I'm fine not knowing that, but it just disappeared all of a sudden.
